#GoingFar: Speed-mentoring for Female Immigrant Entrepreneurs
#GoingFar is an initiative by waytoB and the Migrant Rights Centre Ireland (MRCI) to help female immigrant entrepreneurs expand their network and get access to expert mentors in key areas.

If you are a female immigrant living in Ireland, who has an early-stage business or is interested in starting one, this is an opportunity not to be missed. At this speed-mentorship event, you will have one-on-one sessions with experts in key areas of success for any enterprise: business development, sales, marketing, accounting, and many more.

You will also hear stories from inspiring entrepreneurs, who have achieved success despite the many challenges involved with buying a one-way ticket to a new home and starting a new innovative business. -- How will it work? There are two options: One-on-one mentoring: Each participant will have 30 minutes with 3 mentors.

After registering on eventbrite, you will receive an email asking you to complete a form with your preferences for the mentorship areas. We will do our best to match these with the mentors available, but we can’t guarantee that all requests will be met. Registration to the event will only be complete once you fill in the form. Group mentoring: A group of 10-15 people will be mentored by a female immigrant entrepreneur for 1.5 hours. The group will have the opportunity to learn about the mentor's inspiring story, pitch their ideas, get feedback and ask specific questions.

Startup Week Base Camp Workshop - Aliens and Astronauts: a Diversity Training Game
The Format: Aliens and Astronauts is an interactive and experiential learning activity designed to teach participants how to navigate multi-cultural environments in a respectful and understanding way.

How do I navigate an increasingly diverse environment or office space?
How do I communicate well with people of different cultures and customs?
How do I turn diversity into a strength?

Diversity is not simple:
Diversity, inclusion and cultural differences are not always easy topics to broach. Often, teachers lack the proper tools to trigger productive discussions about diversity. Tangible results with long-term positive impact are hard to come by.

Aliens and Astronauts was created to solve this. The simple and fun leaning activity allows participants to experience the merits of diversity for themselves, so that the lessons learned live on long after the classroom session as a useful reference framework.

An Activity unlike any other"
Panic onboard the spaceship! A meteorite has struck and the damage is devastating. Astronauts must split into teams to gather repair parts. However, these parts must be obtained from the Aliens, an intergalactic race equipped with advanced technology. The Astronauts must get to know the different customs, cultures and habits of the Aliens. Only in this way will they be able to treat the Aliens with the needed respect in order to convince them to help fix the spaceship in time. This interactive activity consists of 3 parts. 1) Roles & Instructions 2) Game rounds 3) Questions and debrief.

About the Organizer:

As schools and workplaces become more international, creating a cohesive community among people of different backgrounds is crucial to a productive and harmonious environment.

Diversity Movement was launched to help shape that community. Through innovative game design, we create experiential learning activities that encourage participants to accept and appreciate different cultural behaviors and beliefs, while helping them recognize the value of a diverse team.

As part of our commitment to encouraging diversity in the start-up and angel investment ecosystem, HBAN are hosting a female investor masterclass on Wednesday 21st at 5.30 pm, in Google Dublin.

The masterclass will include an introduction to our network, a panel discussion with new and experienced investors and pitches from early stage, innovative start-ups to give attendees an idea of what HBAN has to offer. This will be followed by a drinks reception and networking.

Startup Week Base Camp Workshop - Your Code for Beating the Start-up Blues
Our workshop is hosted by Tech For Good Dublin as part of Startup Week Dublin. We’re offering founders and developers practical steps to keep their body, mind and spirit in gear. Being involved with a startup is a roller coaster. It can be an amazing experience – you’re on a steep learning curve and there’s the buzz of creating something you believe in. But as well as the highs there are the lows. You may be under lots of pressure, working from dawn to dusk without structure and feeling the pressure to be always ‘on’ social media.  It’s easy to fall into habits that start impacting your own health and your startup.

During this workshop you’ll be guided by expert wellness entrepreneurs who are on a mission to coach others on how to stay full of energy and focus.  We are offering you a code to help beat the startup blues which involves Sleep + Meditation + Stretching! No prior experience or special clothes or equipment is needed. Just come as you are.

Our workshop is the perfect way to end Startup Week Dublin on a high!
